Halloween Ends’ Rohan Campbell to lead Silent Night, Deadly Night remake

April 17, 2025 by EJ Moreno

Silent Night, Deadly Night caused a ruckus upon its original release, with parents freaking out of Santa being portrayed as a villianous killer. Will that happen again with this new remake, which just landed its killer Santa?

Bloody Disgusting broke the news that Rohan Campbell (Halloween Ends, The Monkey) will star in the iconic role of Billy Chapman in the new Silent Night, Deadly Night reboot. It was reported later that Ruby Modine (Happy Death Day) would star alongside Campbell.

Many fans have described Rohan Campbell’s joining the film as pitch-perfect casting, given his previous roles in horror and his ability to fill the shoes left by Robert Brian Wilson in this role. Given his wholesome appearance but ability to turn up the bloodlust, we could see a career-defining role for the young actor.

UPDATE: Here’s a first look image of Campbell as Champman…

The new film is described as “blending psychological horror, brutal slasher thrills, a touch of the supernatural, and, shockingly, a sprinkle of romance, the new film hopes to deliver a modern new take on the ultimate holiday nightmare.”

The reboot is written and directed by Mike P. Nelson (Wrong Turn, V/H/S/85) and produced by Scott Schneid and Dennis Whitehead, the original 1984 film producers. Brandon Hill and Brad Miska (Terrifier 3) oversee the project for Cineverse and will executive produce alongside Erick Opeka and Yolanda Macias, Bondit Media Capital’s Matthew Helderman, and Luke Taylor.

Per Bloody Disgusting, Sixth Dimension, StudioCanal’s new genre film-focused outlet, is handling distribution outside of North America. Stay tuned for a release date on Silent Night, Deadly Night.
