A24 has debuted the first teaser trailer and a poster for Spike Lee’s latest joint, the crime thriller Highest 2 Lowest.
A reimagining of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 film High and Low, the film sees the director collaborating for a fifth time with Denzel Washington who stars as a titan music mogul caught in a high stakes moral dilemma when he becomes the target of a ransom plot.
Joining Washington in the cast are Jeffrey Wright, Ilfenesh Hadera, and A$AP Rocky. Check out the trailer below…
When a titan music mogul (Denzel Washington), widely known as having the “best ears in the business”, is targeted with a ransom plot, he is jammed up in a life-or-death moral dilemma. Brothers Denzel Washington and Spike Lee reunite for the 5th in their long working relationship for a reinterpretation of the great filmmaker Akira Kurosawa’s crime thriller High and Low, now played out on the mean streets of modern day New York City.
Highest 2 Lowest will be released in select cinemas on August 22nd, and arrives on Apple TV+ on September 5th.
