Amazon has swung the axe on The Bondsman, with Variety revealing that the streaming giant has opted against a second season for the Kevin Bacon-led Prime Video action horror series.
Debuting last month, The Bondsman sees Bacon in the role of Hub Halloran, a murdered bounty hunter who is offered a second chance at life, love, and his musical career ambitions when he is brought back from the dead by the Devil and tasked by catching demons who have escaped from Hell.
Co-starring Beth Grant, Damon Herriman, Maxwell Jenkins and Jolene Purdy, The Bondsman was met with mostly positive reviews and debuted at #10 in the Nielsen streaming originals chart in its first week. Further viewing info is unavailable, and Prime is yet to make any official announcement on the cancellation.
Kevin Bacon stars as Hub Halloran, a murdered bounty hunter, who’s back from the dead after being resurrected by the Devil to trap and send back demons that have escaped from the prison of Hell. By chasing down those demons, with the help and hindrance of his estranged family, Hub learns how his own sins got his soul condemned — which pushes him to seek a second chance at life, love, and country music.
The Bondsman is available to stream now on Prime Video.
