New trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II offers a first look at the gameplay

May 23, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Kasedo Games and Bulwark Studios have released a new trailer (see below) for their turn-based tactical sequel Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II. This new trailer provides an exciting first look at the battles the Adeptus Mechanicus will face against the ancient Necron.

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II takes players to the contested world of Hekateus IV, a planet occupied by the Imperium of Man and also a tomb world for the dreaded Necrons. When the Necrons awoke, legions of Necron warriros and their war machines came out from labyrinthe underworld to wage war against the living.

Players will fight two playable campaigns across visually diverse battlefields, ranging from the shadowy tombs of the Necrons to the highly industrial, techno-religious forge cities of the Adeptus Mechanicus. With all maps teeming with plenty of opportunities for strategic domination.

Players familiar with the first Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus will get to meet familiar faces such as Magos Dominus Faustinius’ trusted advisors. These will be deployable and upgradeable leaders and bring their own personalities to the battlefield.

Alongside these familiar faces come the Leagues of Votann, also known to many veteran 40K players as Squats. This will be the first time this short, resilient and technologically advanced race has appeared in a Warhammer video game. Players may need to determine why they are on Hekateus IV and whether they will pose a threat to Imperial forces.

Look out for Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II coming to Windows PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S later this year.
