Sink your teeth into new demo for vampire hack ‘n’ slash Bloodthief

June 10, 2025 by Andrew Newton

The Steam Next Fest is underway and the new updated demo for vampiric melee runner Bloodthief is now available. Developer and YouTuber Blargis has also released a new trailer (see below) and announced speedrunning challenge for those brave and skilled enough to vanquish virtual foes and real-life records.

The new updated demo features an additional level, a new weapon and three secret artefacts required to unlock that weapon. The demo will take 1 hour to complete, or up to 20 hours for those eager to find all powerups, enemies and more.

The Bloodthief speedrunning competition will be open until 16th June and challenges players to unleash their fangs and make sure they manage the fastest time. The competition is set to be tough as gamers vie for that top spot, as the top 5 players will receive Steam gift cards.

Bloodthief places gamers in the shoes of a merciless and powerful vampire who must travel through a medieval castle and dungeons, uncover its secrets and unleash their wrath upon the terrible enemies that dwell within. Players must use their abilities, powered up by the blood of their foes, to discover shortcuts and secrets as fast as possible.

Main features include:

  • Feel the need, the need for speed! Consume enemy blood to increase speed as you wall run, vault and jump between environments.
  • Unlock a variety of weapons to cut through enemies in ultimate melee free-for-all action.
  • Explore each level, seek out branching paths and shortcuts, unlock loot, new abilities and discover the secrets of this dark world.

The Bloodthief demo is available now on Steam for PC, with the full game set to launch later this year.
