It’s been in development for an Eternia, but the long-awaited Masters of the Universe movie remake is finally on its way, and Prince Adam himself Nicholas Galitzine has taken to social media to announce that filming on the live-action adaptation of the beloved 80s cartoon series and toy line has now wrapped.
“Well, that’s a wrap on Masters of the Universe,” Galitzine wrote on Instagram, as well as sharing a tease of his He-Man look. “It has been an honour shouldering the responsibility of playing Adam and He-Man. It’s been the role of a lifetime and I put everything into it. There’s not much I can show you, but I am so proud of the movie we’ve made. Thanks to our amazing cast and crew for all your hard work.”

Galitzine becomes the second actor to portray He-Man on the big screen after Dolph Lundgren, who battled Frank Langella’s Skeletor in 1987’s Masters of the Universe movie from Cannon Films. A critical and commercial failure at the time of release, it has since earned a reputation as a cult favourite.
Masters of the Universe is directed by Travis Knight (Bumblebee) and sees Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man alongside Camila Mendes as Teela, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-at-Arms, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man, Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops, Jon Xue Zhang as Ram-Man, Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Fisto, James Purefoy as King Randor, and Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena.
Masters of the Universe is set for release on June 5th 2026.
