Dave Bautista knows how to kick-ass; the actor had a massive career in the WWE before becoming one of the best wrestlers-turned-actors we’ve seen. Now, he’s found the perfect film to show off his fighting and acting: Road House 2!
Per Nexus Point News, Bautista will star alongside the returning Jake Gyllenhaal. Details on his role are still under wraps, but many expect Bautista to tap into his real-life background and play a former fighter like Gyllenhaal’s Dalton.
The film will be directed by Guy Ritchie, with Will Beall (Aquaman, Bad Boys: Ride or Die) penning the script. Ritchie is stepping in for Doug Liman after the filmmaker had a fallout with Amazon MGM Studios due to the streaming release of Road House.
If you are somehow unfamiliar with Dave Bautista, many know him for his nearly two-decade career as a professional wrestler, becoming a multi-time WWE Champion. He’d soon become a full-time actor, starring in hits like the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy, Dune, Glass Onion, and Blade Runner 2049. Next up for the actor is Trap House, releasing in November.
Road House 2 is set to begin shooting this Fall.
