Kenneth Branagh and Lily Gladstone join Michael B. Jordan’s The Thomas Crown Affair

July 7, 2025 by Ricky Church

Michael B. Jordan’s upcoming The Thomas Crown Affair remake has added three big names to its production. According to Deadline, Kenneth Branagh (Murder on the Orient Express) and Lily Gladstone (Killers of the Flower Moon) have both joined the cast, with Oppenheimer producer Charles Roven also joining the production team.

Jordan stars in the film as well as directing alongside Taylor Russell (Bones and All), taking the place of former Thomas Crown leads Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway and Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo from the 1968 original and 1999 remake. Details on Gladstone’s role is being kept under wraps, but Branagh is said to have gained the film’s villain role.

The Thomas Crown Affair follows “a wealthy, thrill-seeking man who orchestrates a high-stakes robbery simply for the challenge, only to find himself entangled in a complex cat-and-mouse game with a brilliant investigator.” The script has been written by Drew Pierce based on an earlier draft by Wes Tooke and Justin Britt-Gibson.

The new remake will be produced by Jordan and Elizabeth Raposo for Outlier Society with Roven for Atlas Entertainment.
