DC: Dark Legion celebrates the release of Superman with a new event and characters

July 15, 2025 by Andrew Newton

To celebrate the cinema release of Superman, the new DC Studios film from director James Gunn, developer and publisher FunPlus is rolling out an exciting week of in-game events and fresh content in their popular mobile and PC game, DC: Dark Legion.

At the heart of the festivities is the new ‘Vestiges of Krypton’ event, that will have players face off against colossal Kryptonian guardian behemoths unleashed deep beneath the Earth’s surface, all thanks to a Lex Luthor accident. This league boss challenge, called ‘Colossal Crisis’, tasks the Superman Family with taking down these monstrous guardians while delivering some epic battles for fans of the game.

But that’s not all. Players can get into the spirit of Smallville hospitality by gifting other players, while also working on strengthening their bond with Krypto in the ‘Super Fetch Time’ mini-event. Players can unlock special skills and even collect enough Krypto shards to add the lovable canine hero to their roster for free.

Speaking of rosters, DC: Dark Legion has also just welcomed two new Mythic tier characters – Supergirl and Krypto, both having powerful Superman Family and Metahuman synergies. Superboy (Kon-El / Conner Kent) is set to join next week, rounding out a trio of super heroes sure to excite players.

For those looking for a way to celebrate the Superman movie beyond the big screen, this event-packed week in DC: Dark Legion might be just what is needed.

Superman tells the story of Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice, and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.

Written and directed by James Gunn, Superman stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern/Guy Gardner, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, María Gabriela De Faría as The Engineer, Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Milly Alcock as Supergirl, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Christopher McDonald as Ron Troupe, Terence Rosemore as Otis, and Pruitt Taylor Vince and Neva Howell as Jonathan and Martha Kent.
