Dune: Awakening launches Chapter 2 update and Lost Harvest DLC

September 9, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Funcom’s Dune: Awakening has received its first free major content update that continues the player’s journey after Act 3. The new Lost Harvest DLC has also been released, providing a new standalone story for players to enjoy. There’s also news of a free play weekend and a 20% discount.  You can watch new trailers below for both of these new additions to the world of Arrakis…

The Chapter 2 free update follows the adventure after Act 3 and will have players delve into the distant past while investigating a series of gruesome murders. Players are able to explore brand-new locations and meet new and familiar characters.

The update also brings a variety of exciting new world content to enjoy, including contracts, dynamic encounters, items, activities, and more. Additionally, a new re-customisation feature is available, allowing players to customise existing characters using some of the new character creation options, such as hairstyles and tattoos.

The Lost Harvest DLC, takes players through a new standalone storyline where the wreckage of a Miner’s Guild spice harvester is discovered. It’s up to players to find the potentially revolutionary secret cargo it was carrying.

This new DLC also brings several new cosmetics, including the game’s first new cosmetic vehicle, the Treadwheel, which provides an alternative look for the Sandbike. Players will be able to make use of the new Dune Man building set, brighten up their pad with new decorations, cosmetic armour sets, cosmetic weapon skins, and much more. All cosmetics (inc the vehicle) must still be crafted like any other item in the game and offer no gameplay advantage.

From 11th to 15th September, all gamers can visit the deserts of Arrakis in the Dune: Awakening Free Weekend. During this time, players can enjoy everything the game has to offer, including the new Chapter 2 content, and all character progress is saved for those who then go on to purchase the game and take advantage of the 20% off on Steam and third-party stores. This generous discount is available from 11th to 22nd September.

Dune: Awakening Chapter 2 is available now for free, with the Lost Harvest DLC available for purchase or included as part of the Season Pass.
