Doctor Who Christmas box set to deliver seasonal time-travelling adventures this December

September 19, 2025 by Andrew Newton

This December, Big Finish will release a box set of full-cast festive tales with Doctor Who: Christmas – It’s a Wonderful War and Other Stories, for listeners. This box set will feature adventures for the Eighth Doctor, Missy, Sarah Jane and Harry, and a treat for fans of Jago & Litefoot, that will take the listener from a sleepy English village to an asteroid on the edge of creation.

This upcoming box set brings four brand-new adventures, these are:

‘Unholy Night’ – a Missy adventure by Noga Flaishon – This audio adventure for the villainess finds her facing her worse nightmare, a happy Christmas. Stranded on a frozen planet, she must endure the hospitality and friendliness of the inhabitants of Noel Falls, because while you can visit any time you like… you can never leave.

In ‘Legacy of Blood’ – a Sixth Doctor, Ellie Higson and Leela adventure by Julian Richards, the listener is taken back to 1962. Here, a very old Ellie Higson is plagued by her most harrowing memories of her adventures alongside Henry Gordon Jago and Professor George Litefoot. These recollections take her to the village of Dunstanton-on-Thames where she is reunited with the Sixth Doctor who is on the trail of an ancient evil. Old friends and enemies make a return, and the Green Knight is allowed out of his prison.

Beth Chalmers and Michelle Gomez

‘Presents of Mind’ – a Smith and Sullivan adventure by Mark Wright finds Sarah and Harry ready for their trip to Aunt Lavinia’s house. What they weren’t expecting is being trapped by an icy alien’s attack. Will they get home in time for Christmas?

Finally, in ‘It’s a Wonderful War’ – a Time War-era Eighth Doctor adventure by Jonathan S Powell, Foreman Galen Smith (a worker on an asteroid drifting at the edge of a great war) is disturbed by dreams of monsters killing his people. Fortunately, this poor soul has a guardian angel, one who calls himself the Doctor.
