Slasher roguelite Hotel Barcelona invites you to check in with launch trailer

September 26, 2025 by Andrew Newton

The surreal, bloodsoaked roguelite Hotel Barcelona is now available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. Explore a hotel filled with serial killers and an ancient evil in this brand-new roguelite from the creators of Deadly Premonition, No More Heroes, and Lollipop Chainsaw. Watch the game’s new trailer below, starring game directors SWERY and SUDA51.

Check in to Hotel Barcelona as Justine, a federal marshal on a mission to investigate a mysterious hotel. Once there, she encounters an ancient evil known as Dr. Carnival, who gives her a strange, but incredible power. When Justine finds out that the hotel has been taken over by the most dangerous serial killers that America has to offer, it’s time for her to slaughter her way through this holiday resort.

Inspired by classic horror movie subgenres, players will need to fight, die and repeat in this re-invented roguelite. Grow stronger with every drop of blood spilled, and fill up the skull gauge to unleash the Carnival Awakening, a monstrous special attack. Every time death occurs, an echo, known as Slasher Phantoms, is born and will repeat the player’s movements from the previous run, causing real damage on enemies. Players can use these as shields, allies or simple distractions.

There are seven horror-inspired areas to explore within the hotel, from crazy laboratories to the good old fashioned haunted mansion, and within each waits a deadly and difficult boss. These seven bosses will require quick reflexes and sound strategy to defeat.

Players need not fight through Hotel Barcelona alone, they can be joined by up to two friends with in co-op mode. Alternatively, they can increase the challenge with a PvP mode that allows a fourth player to join.

Hotel Barcelona is available now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
