WGN America gives pilot order to Scalped adaptation

March 9, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Back in April of last year it was announced that WGN America was in development on an adaptation of the acclaimed DC / Vertigo comic book series Scalped, and now it has been confirmed that the network has placed a pilot order for the project.

Created by writer Jason Aaron and artist R.M. Guera and running for 60 issues between 2007 and 2012, Scalped “is described as a modern-day crime story set in the world of a Native American Indian reservation. It explores power, loyalty and spirituality in a community led by the ambitious chief Lincoln Red Crow as he reckons with Dashiell Bad Horse, who has returned home after years away from the reservation.”

The script for Scalped is being written by Doug Jung (Banshee, Star trek Beyond), who will executive produce alongside DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns.
