Jack O’Connell’s Jimmy Crystal looms large on 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple poster

January 10, 2026 by Matt Rodgers

With only a few days to go until Nia DaCosta’s terrific horror-sequel 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple spreads into cinemas, Sony Pictures has dropped a new poster featuring the film’s most intriguing character –  Jack O’Connell’s satanic cult-leader Jimmy Crystal – looming large over his followers.

Picking up after the events of Danny Boyle’s triumphant 28 Years Later, the focus of The Bone Temple shifts to the escalating confrontation between Ralph Fiennes’ Dr. Kelson and O’Connell’s vicious antagonist. Once again written by Alex Garland, the sequel also features the returning Alfie Williams as Spike, Erin Kellyman as a member of Crystal’s crew, and Chi Lewis-Parry as infected Alpha, Samson. Take a look at the poster below…

“Expanding upon the world created by Danny Boyle and Alex Garland in 28 Years Later – but turning that world on its head – Nia DaCosta directs 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. In a continuation of the epic story, Dr. Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) finds himself in a shocking new relationship – with consequences that could change the world as they know it – and Spike’s (Alfie Williams) encounter with Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell) becomes a nightmare he can’t escape. In the world of The Bone Temple, the infected are no longer the greatest threat to survival – the inhumanity of the survivors can be stranger and more terrifying.”

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple begins its roll out into cinemas around the world on January 14th, 2026.
