Peter Capaldi undecided whether he’ll continue on Doctor Who beyond series 10

March 12, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Back in January, it was announced that Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat is to step down from the long-running BBC sci-fi, with Chris Chibnall (Broadchurch) set to take over following the tenth series in 2017.

Speaking to the Radio Times, the current Doctor Peter Capaldi has revealed that the BBC has invited him to stay on in the role for the eleventh series, but as yet he’s undecided about whether to extend his time as the iconic Time Lord.

I’ve been asked to stay on, but it’s such a long time before I have to make that decision,” states Capaldi. “Steven’s been absolutely wonderful, so I love working with him. Chris is fantastic, and I think he’s a hugely talented guy. I don’t know where the show’s gonna go then. I don’t know. I have to make up my mind, and I haven’t yet. As Steven will tell you, it’s very difficult to say goodbye.”
