January 17, 2026 by Matt Rodgers

Dread Central and Shudder have released the trailer for creepy videogame adaptation The Mortuary Assistant, which tells the story of a newly certified mortician who takes a night job working alone in a spooky mortuary, only to be confronted by numerous demons and her own past trauma.

Directed by Jeremiah Kipp (Slapface), from a script co-written by the game’s producer Brian Clarke alongside Tracee Beebe (Date From Hell), The Mortuary Assistant stars Willa Holland, Paul Sparks, Mark Steger, Shelly Gibson, and Keena Ferguson Fraiser. Check out the trailer below…

“During her first overnight shift at the morgue, newly hired mortician Rebecca Owens falls victim to possession from a demonic entity.”

The Mortuary Assistant is only in theaters on February 13th, before streaming on Shudder from March 27th.
