Last month it was announced that Christian Bale is to reunite with Out of the Furnace director Scott Cooper for the Western epic Hostiles, and now Deadline has revealed that Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) has also signed on to appear in the cast.
Hostiles is based on a thirty-year old script by Donald Stewart (Missing), and follows a legendary Army captain who agrees to escort a dying Cheyenne war chief and his family back to tribal lands in 1892. Pike is set to play “a widow who undertakes the harrowing and perilous journey after the murder of her family on the plains.”
Production on Hostiles is set to begin in July.
