Big Finish announce Young Bond audio dramas and casting call

February 13, 2026 by Andrew Newton

Bond fans can look forward to September as Big Finish Productions announces Young Bond, a brand-new full-cast audio drama series that focuses on the teenage years of Ian Fleming’s legendary hero. The first of these adventures to arrive will be an adaptation of SilverFin by Charlie Higson, and a casting call his been issues for the voices of young James Bond and his friend Wilder Lawless.

Higson’s Silverfin is the first Young Bond novel, originally published in 2005, and follows James’ arrival at Eton College in 1933. With new surroundings, new friends, and school bullies, Bond soon finds his first taste of action that will follow him throughout his career as the world’s best secret agent.

Charlie Higson said: “I’m very excited that my Young Bond books will be given fresh life as fully dramatised audio adventures. As we eagerly anticipate the new film, James Bond returns in audio, hopefully introducing him to a new generation.”

Director Barnaby Edwards said: “Charlie Higson’s novel is everything you want an ‘origins’ story to be – thrilling, clever, funny, moving, and wholly in keeping with Fleming’s world. But it was going to need more than just a couple of actors and the odd sound effect to bring it to life. To do it justice, we needed to make an eight-hour action epic packed with thrills and spills – and that’s just what we’re doing.”

Auditions for Bond and his friend Wilder Lawless will take place in London on 26th February. More info for this can be found by visiting www.youngbondadventures.com.
