Kristen Bell to voice Amy Rose in Sonic the Hedgehog 4

February 18, 2026 by Ricky Church

The fourth installment of the Sonic the Hedgehog film franchise has made its first addition to its cast as Frozen and Nobody Wants This star Kristen Bell will voice Amy Rose, one of Sonic’s allies who was teased in the mid-credits scene of Sonic The Hedgehog 3.

Amy Rose was introduced in the video game Sonic The Hedgehog CD as a pink hedgehog who wields a giant hammer and has a bubbly and cheerful personality, often being depicted throughout the games and other media as also having a huge crush on Sonic. In the closing minutes of the third film, Amy made a brief cameo rescuing Sonic from several Metal Sonics that were attacking him.

Sonic The Hedgehog 4 will see Ben Schwartz return to voice Sonic with Jeff Fowler directing once again. Schwartz announced Bell’s casting in a post on his Instagram with the pair holding Sonic and Amy figures. There is no word on the film’s plot, but with Amy and Metal Sonic being teased it is possible the fourth film will utilize time travel as the games have done with their inclusion in the story.

Also unknown is who among the previous films will return. It can be assumed Colleen O’Shaughnessey and Idris Elba will reprise their roles as Tails and Knuckles, but the live-action cast that features James Marsden, Tina Sumpter and Jim Carrey has not been revealed nor has the possibility of Keanu Reeves returning as Shadow The Hedgehog following the post-credits scene of Shadow’s survival.

Sonic The Hedgehog 4 will speed into theatres on March 19th, 2027.
