Winona Ryder to reunite with Tim Burton and Jenna Ortega in Wednesday season 3

February 24, 2026 by Ricky Church

The third season of Netflix’s hit Addams Family series Wednesday has begun production and announced a number of new cast members, revealing the biggest addition to be Winona Ryder as she reunites with Tim Burton and her Beetlejuice Beetlejuice co-star Jenna Ortega.

Ryder will feature as a guest star in the upcoming season as a character named Tabitha. No other information has been given about Tabitha, though the announcement video below indicates she may be from a new family the Addams will interact with.

Ryder is fresh off Netflix’s other hit series Stranger Things, and also recently starred in Beetlejuice Bettlejuice, Burton’s long-anticipated sequel to his 1988 film which reunited Ryder with Michael Keaton and the late Catherine O’Hara. Ortega starred in the sequel as Astrid, the daughter to Ryder’s Lydia Deetz in her first encounter with the supernatural nuisance Beetlejuice.

“When it comes to Outcasts, Winona Ryder is the GOAT,” showrunner Al Gough and Miles Millar said. “Her legendary partnership with Tim Burton has defined some of cinema’s most unforgettable characters. We loved collaborating with her on Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome her to Nevermore.”

I am so happy that Winona has joined us, she fits right into this world,” Wednesday director/executive producer Burton said. “And she’s a dear friend. I always feel lucky to work with her.”

Also joining Wednesday are Chris Sarandon (The Princess Bride), Noah Taylor (Game Of Thrones), Oscar Morgan (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms) and Kennedy Moyer (Roofman). Ryder and her fellow newcomers join Eva Green, who was previously cast as Aunt Ophelia, the sister of Catherine Zeta Jones’ Morticia Addams.

“I’m so excited to be back for Season 3 and it’s great to be reunited with all of the original cast,” Burton added. “The addition of some dear friends and past collaborators of mine – Winona, Eva, Chris, Noah…makes this season extra special. I feel very lucky.”

“It’s our dark delight to fling open Nevermore Academy’s gates once more as we begin production on Season Three,” said Gough and Millar. “We thank our invincible cast and crew for their continued commitment to doom and gloom. To the fans, we appreciate your patience and ravenous online commentary – your twisted theories have inspired nightmares. This season we welcome new students, new teachers, and excavate some long-rotting Addams Family secrets. Don’t say you weren’t warned.”

Wednesday stars Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Evie Templeton, Isaac Ordonez, Joanna Lumley, Georgie Farmer, Moosa Mustafa, Victor Dorobantu, Fred Armisen, Billie Piper and Hunter Doohan.
