The Twisted Childhood Universe continues with Pinocchio: Unstrung trailer

March 2, 2026 by Amie Cranswick

ITN Distribution has released the first trailer for Pinocchio: Unstrung, the upcoming horror reimagining of Carlo Collodi’s classic 1883 tale The Adventures of Pinocchio, which marks the fifth instalment in the Twisted Childhood Universe.

Written and directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield (Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey), the film tells an unsettling journey of the titular puppet’s journey to becoming a real boy and features a cast that includes Richard Brake as Geppetto, Cameron Bell as James, and horror icon Robert Englund as the voice of Cricket.

We follow James as his grandfather, Geppetto, introduces him to a seemingly magical doll to become best friends. However, unaware of Pinocchio’s naive nature, as James introduces him to the world it results in the doll going on a crusade to eliminate all things “bad.”

Pinnochio: Unstrung is coming soon.
