Adam Sandler to lead Scott Cooper’s new Netflix drama Time Out

March 26, 2026 by Matt Rodgers

Following Happy Gilmore 2 and Jay Kelly, Adam Sandler has landed his next Netflix venture in the form of Scott Cooper’s psychological drama Time Out.

The Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere director has enlisted Sandler to play a man called Vincent, who having recently been fired and is struggling to conceal the truth from his family. As he tries to navigate a quickly growing web of deception to protect his family, Vincent finds himself asking universal questions that transcend his situation. What kind of lies do we tell the people we love? How do we justify them? And what happens, inevitably, when they discover the truth?

Written, directed, and produced by Cooper (Hostiles), Time Out is based on the French film L’Emploi du temps by Laurent Cantet and Robin Campillo, and also features a stellar cast that includes Willem Dafoe (Werwulf), Gaby Hoffmann (C’mon C’mon), F. Murray Abraham (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Steve Zahn (Anaconda), and Adam Horovitz (Golden Exits).

There is no word yet on a release date for Time Out.
