A new Torchwood audio adventure available now from Big Finish

April 2, 2026 by Andrew Newton

The 99th and penultimate release in the regular range of Torchwood audio adventures is now available from Big Finish Productions. Torchwood: Curtain, scripted by James Goss from a story by David Llewellyn, tells the tale of three actors and a mysterious figure who has loomed over Torchwood for a good part of its history.

In this latest Torchwood adventure, three actors are invited to return to a theatre where they all once shared a particularly terrifying experience. The actors – the washed-up Dermot Lacey, the former grand dame Mathilde Balfour, and the successful Roger Cartney, arrive only to find themselves tormented by a mysterious figure calling himself Bilis Manger.

What is this person’s connection to the Bilis that Torchwood has previously encountered? Is he the same Bilis? Is he an angel, a demon, or something more sinister? Torchwood aims to find out.

L to R: Sarah Douglas, Cyril Nri, Colin Ryan and Robert Bathurst.

This new adventure stars Cyril Nri as Dermot, Sarah Douglas as Balfour, Robert Bathurst as Cartney, and Colin Ryan as Bilis Manger.

Due to the unfortunate death of Murray Melvin who played Bilis in the Torchwood TV series and numerous audio adventures, the story has been reworked as a tribute to both the beloved actor and the popular Torchwood character.

Torchwood: Curtain is available to purchase now from Big Finish as a download for £8.99, or as a limited collector’s edition CD for £13.99. Bundles are also available.
