A brand new Doctor Who adventure available now for Peter Davison’s Fifth Doctor

April 10, 2026 by Andrew Newton

Fans of Peter Davison’s Fifth Doctor can now purchase the latest full-cast audio adventure, Doctor Who: The Fifth Doctor Adventures -Helter Skelter, from the Big Finish website. This new box set will take the Doctor through three exciting adventures from 1950s England, through 1980s London and into the future to a space amusement park. There’s also a new trailer to enjoy below….

The Fifth Doctor Adventures: Helter Skelter sees the return of Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor, as he continues his journey through time and space with Tegan Jovanka (once again played by Janet Fielding), and Vislor Turlough (played by Mark Strickson). Together, the three time travellers must survive three new adventures, including:

‘Field of Miracles’ by Lauren Mooney & Stewart Pringle finds the TARDIS arrive in the quiet village of Heathrington in 1951. The three companions find the place thriving, the villagers have plenty of food despite post-war austerity, and the shops are filled with goods. Whatever the villagers want, they have, even if it’s the return of their deceased loved ones. The Doctor suspects the wish-granting crystalline organisms, the Asteri, are up to their sinister antics, but can he stop them before they can exact a terrible price on the unsuspecting villagers?

L to R: Sam Stafford, Beth Chalmers, Janet Fielding, Peter Davison and Jason Forbes.

In ‘Helter Skelter’ by James Moran, a bio-engineered planet and amusement park has a massive malfunction and tears itself apart. The Doctor and his companions get thrown back to their arrival on the planet and become stuck in a time loop. Only Tegan can see the trouble they are all in, but not the Doctor. How can Tegan fix this planet-wide time loop when the Doctor doesn’t even know about it?

Finally, in ‘Land of Fools’ by Lauren Mooney & Stewart Pringle, the TARDIS arrives in 1980s London, but it’s not the London that any of the trio of time travellers remember. In this strange new city, a mysterious new company, Luqos, has all the power, and as Tegan disappears to find an old friend, the Doctor teams up with the young activist, Zan. Meanwhile, Turlough is drawn into the heart of Luqos by the shadowy ‘M’, where they find an old enemy involved.

L to R: Sam Stafford, Emily Woodward, Peter Davison, Janet Fielding, Hiba Medina, Sarah Lambie, and Jack Barton.

The Fifth Doctor Adventures: Helter Skelter’s guest cast includes Jack Barton, Sarah Lambie, Matthew Cottle, Hiba Medina, Paul Bown, Emily Woodward, Richard Goulding, Helen Pearson, Sam Stafford, Beth Chalmers, and Jason Forbes.

The Fifth Doctor Adventures: Helter Skelter is available to purchase now for £19.99 for the download, or £24.99 for the download and limited collector’s edition 3-disc CD box set.
