Robert the Doll returns with horror franchise reboot from Flickering Myth and Shepka Productions

June 10, 2026 by admin

Flickering Myth is delighted to announce that we are reuniting with Shepka Productions to reboot the cult British horror franchise Robert the Doll on behalf of IMP Studios and distributor 4Digital Media.

The new film, which is in production now, will reimagine the infamous killer doll, who made his screen debut in 2015’s Robert from the late UK genre filmmaker Andrew Jones, before returning for four further instalments in the original series – The Curse of Robert the Doll, The Toymaker, The Legend of Robert the Doll, and Robert Reborn.

The Robert reboot marks the third collaboration between Flickering Myth and Shepka Productions after the gothic horror The Baby in the Basket and suspense thriller Death Among the Pines, and welcomes back a number of the cast and crew of those two films.

The Baby in the Basket’s Elle O’Hara leads the cast alongside 10-year-old newcomer Iona McGill, with Death Among the Pines’ Stephen Kerr and Nathan Shepka also starring alongside Legend and Baby in the Basket’s Annabelle Lanyon and Robert series veteran Lee Bane. Other cast members include Ian Plunkett, Nico Palmieri, Gary Collinson, David McCallum, John Walker-Gray, David Rogerson and Zinny Udala.

The film is being produced by Robert Graham of IMP Studios, Nathan Shepka of Shepka Productions and Gary Collinson of Flickering Myth, with executive producers Tony Taglienti and Sally Wood for 4 Digital Media, and Emmy Award-winner Kira Reed (The Bay). Filming is currently taking place in Scotland, ahead of a 2027 release.

On a personal note, the Robert reboot marks an exciting new chapter for FM Films as we venture into pre-existing horror IP, and we’re very excited to be part of Robert’s return to the screen. It’s an entirely new direction for the series, but of course it wouldn’t be a killer doll movie without leaning into its b-horror roots, and we hope to serve up a healthy dose of lo-fi practical effects, gory violence and gnarly death sequences for your horror fans out there.

Thank you as ever to the Flickering Myth Family for your ongoing support.
