A DMT trip descends into horror in trailer for Dementium

August 16, 2026 by Gary Collinson

Freestyle Digital Media has shared a trailer for Dementium, an independent psychological horror-thriller from director Mark Wilson Sunderland which revolves around a man who seeks to confront his dead father via DMT, only to descend on a trip into madness; check out the trailer below…

DEMENTIUM tells the story of Wyatt Bailey, who retreats to a secluded cabin on a Christmas tree farm, driven by a single goal: to uncover the truth about his mother’s murder. But the only person who might hold the answer, his father, lies dead, wrapped in plastic in the trunk of his car. In desperation, Wyatt turns to the psychedelic drug DMT (Dimethyltryptamine), determined to confront his father’s spirit and ask the unthinkable: Did he kill his own wife?

What follows is a hallucinatory descent into horror and hope as Wyatt is visited by two forces from beyond. His charismatic ex-girlfriend, Cora, urges him to relive their first date, tempting him with the possibility of love and redemption. At the same time, a malevolent witch stalks him, pushing him toward violence and despair. Trapped in this drug-fueled nightmare, Wyatt must navigate visions of memory, desire, and fear while battling for his soul and deciding whether the truth will destroy him or set him free.

Featuring in the cast of Dementium are Michael Aaron Milligan, Karynn Moore, Dani Deetté, Kristen Rakes, Adam Boyer, Doug Dawson, and Murretta Moss.

Dementium is set for release on North American VOD platforms on August 18th 2026.
