The new action thriller is set in London and stars Kevin Costner as a notorious criminal named Jericho, who feels no emotion. But when the CIA’s top man Bill Pope (played by Ryan Reynolds) is killed, they make the decision to transfer Bill’s memories into Jericho’s mind so that they can continue to track terrorists known as the Spanish Anarchist and The Dutchman before its too late.

On the film, Vromen spoke about casting Kevin Costner against type and also about bringing Gary Oldman and Tommy Lee Jones into the film: “I guess they all just wanted to do a reunion for JFK!”

Vromen originally spoke to Reynolds about playing the lead but even though that didn’t pan out, the Deadpool star was keen to be involved even in a small role. Vroman said: “I met Ryan to play the lead, but I didn’t know about Self/Less at time (a similarly plotted film)…but he said ‘I’m such a fan of Costner and Field of Dreams is my favourite movie of all time and I will do anything to be in a Costner movie!'”

Criminal is out in UK and US cinemas now.
