Orange is the New Black renewed for third season

May 6, 2014 by Jake Peffer

Season 2 of Orange is the New Black will premiere on Netflix on June 6th and as of today the series has been renewed for a third season. The show’s third season will consist of 13 episodes once again.

The show stars Taylor Schilling as Piper Chapman, a woman who goes to prison and reunites with her old lover Alex Vause (Laura Prepon), the person responsible for her going to prison. Sadly, Prepon’s role was cut down for season 2 but it has already been confirmed that she will return as a series regular for season 3.

This renewal came as no surprise to anyone really as the series has already become the biggest hit for Netflix original series. Orange is the New Black surprised everyone, including myself, last July when it debuted on Netflix and went on to become one of the hottest shows of 2013. History is sure to repeat itself in 2014.
