The Vampire Diaries’ Susan Walters joins The Flash as Caitlin Snow’s mother

August 8, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that The Vampire Diaries alum Susan Walters has joined the cast of The Flash for its third season, with the actress set to play Dr. Carla Tannhauser, the mother of Danielle Panabaker’s Caitlin Snow.

The site describes the character as “a world class biomedical engineer and CEO of a major research company. But while Caitlin may have inherited her mother’s formidable scientific mind, the two have long had a difficult relationship, with Caitlin finding her mother cold and withholding, and Carla regarding her daughter as rebellious and ungrateful.”
