Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Taylor Kitsch (True Detective) has signed on to the cast of the upcoming adaptation of Vince Flynn’s American Assassin, where he’ll play “a mysterious official intent on starting a world war in the Middle East.”
Dylan O’Brien is leading the cast as CIA counter-terrorist operative Mitch Rapp, while Keaton as his mentor Stan Hurley. The film is being directed by Michael Cuesta (Homeland), with Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers) and Nick Wechsler (Magic Mike) producing.
Kitsch is currently working on his feature directorial debut Pieces, and is also set to appear in the firefighter drama Granite Mountain alongside Miles Teller and Josh Brolin.
