Dax Shepard to write and co-direct Scooby-Doo animated movie S.C.O.O.B.

September 10, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Variety is reporting that Dax Shepard (Hit and Run) is in talks with Warner Bros. to co-direct their upcoming Scooby-Doo animated feature S.C.O.O.B. alongside Tony Cervone (Space Jam). He will also pen the screenplay alongside Matt Lieberman (Dr. Doolittle: Tail to the Chief).

Best known for acting work in the likes of Without a Paddle, Idiocracy and Parenthood, Shepard has recently directed the action-comedy CHiPS for Warner Bros., which was overseen by executive Jesse Ehrman, who has reportedly brought him on board for Mystery Inc’s return to the big screen.

Although plot details on the Scooby-Doo movie are being kept under wraps, it was revealed earlier this year that the film will be titled S.C.O.O.B., and is said to be “the first step in “unlocking the whole Hanna-Barbera universe.”

S.C.O.O.B. is set for release on September 21st 2018.
