Hayley Atwell wants Marvel to make an Agent Carter movie

September 28, 2016 by Gary Collinson

ABC left a lot of Peggy Carter fans disappointed earlier this year when it decided to pull the plug on Agent Carter following its second season. Hayley Atwell has now moved on to another ABC show in Conviction, but she still has hopes of one day reprising the role of Peggy; the actress has previously discussed the possibility of an Agent Carter special, and now she’s revealed to CBR that she’s also been pestering Marvel for a movie.

“I hound [Marvel Studios co-president Louis] D’Esposito on a regular basis, saying, ‘Give me a movie!’,” said Atwell. “I think the great thing about Peggy is, we know from Winter Soldier that she lives a long life, so she can come back. I’m banking on, when I’m in my fifties, I’m like, ‘This is the time. Let’s see what Peggy’s up to in this decade.’”

Given how much Marvel has on its plate (and the fact that ratings for Agent Carter weren’t exactly stellar), it would seem unlikely that we’ll see Peggy getting her own solo movie. However, despite – SPOILERS – her death in Captain America: Civil War, as we’ve seen with Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man, there are still ways to work in a cameo in a future film, and it would be equally surprising if we’ve seen the last of Peggy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Would you like to see an Agent Carter movie? Or has the character run its course now? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
