Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Chris Pine set for A Wrinkle in Time

October 22, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Beyond the Lights) and Chris Pine (Star Trek Beyond) have become the latest addition to the cast of Disney’s sci-fi fantasy A Wrinkle in Time, which is being directed by Ava DuVernay (Selma) from a script by Jennifer Lee (Frozen).

Storm Reid (12 Years a Slave) is leading the cast as Meg Murray, who along with her brother and his friend, sets off on a fantastic voyage to search for Meg’s father, who has disappeared after experimenting with time travel.

Mbatha-Raw and Pine will play Meg’s mother and father, and will be joined by Oprah Winfrey (Selma), Reese Witherspoon (Walk the Line) and Mindy Kaling (The Mindy Project).

Filming on A Wrinkle in Time is slated to get underway this year, although a release date is yet to be set.
