Ryan Murphy announces American Horror Story Murder House and Coven crossover season

October 31, 2016 by Gary Collinson

During a panel at EW’s PopFest this Sunday, American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy has revealed that they will be revisiting the characters of two previous seasons – Murder House (the first) and Coven (the third) – for an upcoming crossover.

“We do know what we’re going to do,” said Murphy. “It’s not going to be next season, but we are going to do a season that’s a crossover between Murder House and Coven together, which is very bizarre. There will be characters from Murder House and characters from Coven together. I’ve [already] started going to actors from both of the seasons, quietly, saying, ‘I think in this window, if you could fit us in?’ So yeah, it’s fun. It’s weird.”

The first season of American Horror Story revolved around a family who moved into a house haunted by its former occupants, with the third focussing on a coven of witches in New Orleans. The sixth season – subtitled Roanoke – is currently airing on FX.

UPDATE: Murphy has also taken to Twitter today to announce that Sarah Paulson will be reprising the role of Lana Winters from American: Horror Story Asylum in the current season, Roanoke.
