Warner Bros. announces start of production on Ocean’s 8

Warner Bros. Pictures has officially announced the start of production on Ocean’s 8, the female-led spinoff to Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s trilogy, which follows eight women who plan and execute a heist in New York.

Gary Ross (The Hunger Games) is directing the film, while stars Oscar winners Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway alongside Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna and Helena Bonham Carter. Soderbergh is also attached as producer.

Ocean’s 8 is shooting in and around New York City, and is set for release in the summer of 2018.
