The Flash star Kiersey Clemons comments on the departure of director Rick Famuyiwa

November 4, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Earlier this week it was announced that Warner Bros.’ The Flash movie had lost a second director, with Rick Famuyiwa exiting the project due to creative differences.

During his time at the helm, Famuyiwa had cast his Dope star Kiersey Clemons in the role of Iris West, and now the actress has been speaking to THR about the situation, sharing her disappointment over his departure.

“Rick was one of the main reasons I wanted to do the movie,” said Clemons. “So him not being a part of it is obviously very upsetting to me. All I can do is give it up to the gods. Let’s see what happens. Let’s see who’s going to jump in… Ezra Miller and I are going to do what we promised to do from the beginning. No matter who the director is, I am going to do what I think Iris should be.”

The Flash is currently scheduled to arrive in March 2018, although it’s thought that date will now be pushed back. However, if rumours are to be believed, we’ll get our first glimpse of Clemons’ Iris West next year courtesy of a cameo in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
