Jim Parsons to headline Brother Orange

November 16, 2016 by Gary Collinson

THR is reporting that The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons has signed on to headline Brother Orange, an upcoming feature film from Warner Bros. and BuzzFeed Motion Pictures.

The film will see Parsons as BuzzFeed editor Matt Stopera, and will tell the story of the internet phenomenon whereby his iPhone was stolen and made its way to China, with random images appearing on his stream a year later, including shots of a man in front of an orange tree, who was dubbed ‘Brother Orange’ by the internet community. Stopera’s reports on the incident went viral, and he eventually tracked the man down, with both becoming overnight celebrities.

Stopera is executive producing Brother Orange alongside Ilana Glazer (Broad City), Ellen Degeneres and Jeff Kleeman, while Parsons also producting through his That’s Wonderful Productions banner.
