Universal are having a bit of a shake up both at an executive level and at a purely creative level. Although just last week it broke that Hailee Steinfeld had been cast alongside Vince Vaughn in Term Life, it looks like the film has been cancelled. Vaughn was set to play a professional thief who finds himself targeted by the mob, dirty cops and contract killers. This film sounded vaguely promising but with Couples Retreat director Peter Billingsley at the helm, it may be a good thing for the film to be cancelled.
Hailee Steinfeld’s career won’t be affected by this setback, with Ender’s Game, Romeo and Juliet and Can a Song Save Your Life? all incoming. Vaughn on the other hand, although certainly going through a large blip in his career, has Nick Frost and Dave Franco co-vehicle Business Trip on the horizon along with Delivery Man, which opens next month in America.
