Jurassic World 2 adds The Get Down star Justice Smith to its cast

December 2, 2016 by Justin Cook

The Get Down star Justice Smith is the latest actor to join the ever-expanding cast of Jurassic World 2. The Hollywood Reporter, the outlet that broke the news, didn’t provide any further information about who Smith would be playing in the sequel or the size of his role.

While The Get Down never achieved the mainstream popularity of such Netflix original shows as House of Cards, Orange is the New Black or Stranger Things, it has a small but devoted fanbase.

Smith, who is 21 years old, has only appeared in a handful of projects across his short career. Outside of The Get Down, his most high-profile role by far is that of Radar, friend to Nat Wolff’s Quentin, in Paper Towns.

Jurassic World 2 is set for release on June 22nd, 2018 and will see Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard reprising their roles as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing alongside new additions Toby Jones (Captain America: The First Avenger) and Rafe Spall (Black Mirror). J.A. Bayona (The Impossible) is set to helm the film, and Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow is penning the script with Derek Connolly. Frank Marshall, Pat Crowley and Belen Atienza are on board as producers.
