Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd front runners for Marvel’s Ant-Man

October 15, 2013 by admin

As Edgar Wright prepares to finally take the plunge with his long-gestating Ant-Man adaptation, Variety has revealed that Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Dark Knight Rises, Looper) and Paul Rudd (This Is 40, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues) have emerged as the two front runners for the lead role of Dr. Henry Pym.

According to Variety’s sources, the two are set to meet with Wright and Marvel executives again, while there’s also said to be the possibility of a third actor entering the mix. The site also goes on to speculate that both actors could become involved, with one of them portraying Hank Pym and the other Scott Lang, a criminal who steals Pym’s Ant-Man technology and follows in his footsteps, although the report does state that this scenario is unlikely.

Ant-Man has been written by Wright and Joe Cornish (Attack the Block) and is currently set for release on July 31st 2015, just two weeks after Warner Bros. unleashes Batman vs. Superman.
