Shooting locations revealed for the Han Solo Star Wars spinoff movie

January 9, 2017 by Robert Kojder

Spanish cinema blog ElBlogDeCineEspanol which is a credible source of information according to Star Wars News Net, is reporting that the primary location for principal photography in the Han Solo Star Wars spinoff film will be Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Islands.

The article also mentions that Italy will be a secondary filming location. Production on the film is reported set to get underway in February.

Some avid Star Wars fans have already pointed out that the aforementioned island of Fuerteventura looks a lot like Scarif from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything, as the visuals and setting of a location can be drastically altered.

The untitled Han Solo film sees Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The LEGO Movie) directing a cast that includes the aforementioned Alden Ehrenreich as the titular smuggler, Donald Glover (Spider-Man: Homecoming) as Lando Calrissian and Emilia Clark (Game of Thrones) in as-yet-unrevealed role.
