Black Mass adds Kevin Bacon to its cast

June 27, 2014 by Scott J. Davis

Fresh from his current success in Fox’s The Following, Kevin Bacon has signed to co-star in Black Mass, the new film from Out Of the Furnace director Scott Cooper.

The new thriller tells the story of notorious Irish mob boss White Bulger and his relationship with FBI agent John Connolly, who helps him become the most powerful gangster in Boston history, and continues to let him evade the police, and prison. Bacon joins an all-star cast that on paper sends us salivating.

Johnny Depp (Transcendence) stars as Bulger alongside Joel Edgerton (The Great Gatsby) as Connolly, with the pair joined by Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek Into Darkness), Sienna Miller (Factory Girl), Adam Scott (Step Brothers), Juno Temple (Killer Joe), Dakota Johnson (50 Shades Of Grey), Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad), Rory Cochrane (Oculus), Julianne Nicholson (August: Osage County) and Corey Stoll (House Of Cards).

Black Mass is due for release in October 2015.
