A John Lennon / Yoko Ono film is on the way

February 2, 2017 by Samuel Brace

An untitled John Lennon / Yoko Ono film is in the works from The Theory of Everything writer Anthony McCarten.

The story of John Lennon’s and Yoko Ono’s romance is well known, and it’s effect on The Beatles and the couple’s anti-war efforts have been well documented. But that isn’t stopping a film detailing their relationship coming to the big screen.

McCarten, as well as writing the flick, will serve as producer for the movie along with De Luca, Immersive Pictures’ Josh Bratman and Yoko Ono herself.

High profile producer De Luca, of such projects as Captain Phillips and The Social Network, had the following to say in a statement about the movie:

“The story will focus on ripe and relevant themes of love, courage and activism in the U.S. — with the intention of inspiring today’s youth to stand up for and have a clear vision for the world they want”.

When any news of casting for the film arrives we will be sure to let you know.
