Keanu Reeves to lead romantic thriller Siberia

February 2, 2017 by Samuel Brace

Originally published February 2, 2017. Updated April 16, 2018.

Keanu Reeves is to star in the romantic thriller Siberia from Passengers producer Stephen Hamel.

Reeves is a busy man these days; enjoying a second lease of life as an actor, the Matrix star is jumping from one project to another, finding plenty of success with the likes of John Wick – its sequel is due for release this month.

And now Reeves is boarding another project, starring in the aptly named Siberia, a film about an American diamond trader who is engrossed in a passionate relationship in a Siberian town while battling against the dark forces of the diamond trade.

Filming is set to get underway this year and the project will be helmed by the director of Frank & Lola, Matthew Ross. The screenplay has been written by Scott Smith who penned the movie A Simple Plan.
