Daniel Craig becomes the second-longest serving Bond

February 20, 2017 by Gary Collinson

We still don’t know if he’ll be picking up the Walther PPK for another outing, but as of today Daniel Craig has officially became the second-longest serving James Bond, having spent 4,147 consecutive days in the role, leaving him second only to Roger Moore on 5,118.

The ranking, compiled by the Press Association, begins from the day each actor was announced as 007 through to the day their successor is officially named.

Daniel Craig made his debut as Bond in 2006’s Casino Royale, and has since followed that up with Quantum of Solace, Spectre and Skyfall. Should he remain in the role for another 971 days, he would officially take the crown as the longest serving 007.

The last we heard on Craig’s status, he was said to be “absolutely the first choice” of Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson to remain in the role, and Craig indicated back in October that he would be open to returning for Bond 25, which is currently without a planned release date or production start.
