Spring Breakers TV show in development

March 26, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Harmony Korine’s 2012 feature Spring Breakers is heading to the small screen thanks to the upcoming digital platform Blackpills, who have tapped the movie’s producers Chris Hanley and Fernando Sulichin to develop a scripted series for the new streaming service.

“Muse has always been a pioneer in detecting new young talents, so they perfectly complement our vision at Blackpills,” said Blackpills co-founder Patrick Holzman. “We want to engage new audiences by releasing Spring Breakers in an unconventional digital format beyond one typical for movies. Muse’s passion for new progressive formats excites us and marks the start of a long partnership.”

Korine will not be involved with the project, not will any of the film’s cast, which included Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, Rachel Korine and James Franco.
