Pudsey the Dog: The Movie gets cut by the BBFC

July 8, 2014 by admin

It’s the return of the Video Nasties!

Just kidding.

But after being reviewed by the BBFC and a request by distributor, Hammingdon Pictures, 10 seconds have been cut from the 87 minute run time of the family-friendly Pudsey the Dog: The Movie, starring Britain’s Got Talent winner Pudsey.

From the BBFC website:

“Company chose to remove a single use of mild bad language (‘bugger’) in order to obtain a U classification. Cut made in accordance with BBFC Guidelines and policy. An uncut PG classification was available.”

Pudsey the Dog: The Movie will be released on July 18th 2014.

A heartwarming, quintessentially British adventure for all the family, Pudsey The Dog: The Movie follows cheeky London stray dog, Pudsey, who is quite happy being a lone ranger, looking out for number one, until he meets siblings Molly (Izzy Meikle-Small), George (Spike White) and Tommy (Malachy Knights). After losing their father, their mother Gail (Jessica Hynes) is moving the family to the sleepy village of Chuffington and Pudsey tags along, to the dismay of their landlord, Mr. Thorne (John Sessions), and his cat Faustus. As Pudsey starts to settle in with the family and realize what he was missing when he was alone, he stumbles across Thorne’s evil plan and he determines to save them and the whole village.

Pudsey the Dog: The Movie features the voice talent of David Walliams (Little Britain) as Pudsey and the movie is directed by Nick Moore (Horrid Henry: The Movie) based of a script by Paul Rose (My Parents are Aliens). The film also stars Olivia Colman (Cuban Fury), Jessica Hynes (Spaced), John Sessions (Filth), Luke Neal (Jupiter Ascending), Izzy Meikle-Small (Snow White and the Huntsman) and Luke Tittensor (Holby City).
