Lionsgate acquires sci-fi novel The Punch Escrow

April 14, 2017 by Gary Collinson

According to Deadline, Lionsgate has picked up the rights to Tal M. Klein’s debut novel, the sci-fi tale The Punch Escrow, which has been attracting much interest in Hollywood.

Published by Inkshares, the official description for the novel reads: “It’s the year 2147: a time of enduring peace on Earth. The Last War ended half a century ago. We can cure most ills, the air is pure, and teleportation is how we get around. Sounds great, right? So why does everyone suddenly want to kill Joel Byram?”

Deadline reports that the novel sees protagonist Bryam duplicated during the teleportation process, and “must outsmart the shadowy organization that controls teleportation, outrun the religious sect that’s out to destroy it and find a way back to the woman he loves in a world that now has two of him.”
