Ridley Scott developing David and Goliath movie

July 10, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Coming hot on the heels of the first trailer for his next film Exodus: Gods and Kings [which you can see here], Variety is reporting that filmmaker Ridley Scott is lining up another biblical epic with an adaptation of the David and Goliath story.

According to the site, 20th Century Fox has hired Jonathan Stokes to begin work on a script on behalf of Scott’s production outfit Scott Free and Exodus partner company Chernin Entertainment, which will reportedly revolve around David’s post-Goliath time as the King of Israel.

At this point, it’s unclear whether Scott has any plans to direct; his next directorial offering is said to be The Martian with Matt Damon, while he also has Prometheus 2 and the Blade Runner sequel on his slate.
