Amir El-Masry cast in Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan series

June 7, 2017 by Ricky Church

Another cast member joined Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, the upcoming Amazon series based on Clancy’s central hero from many of his political/espionage novels, with Amir El-Masry (The Night Manager) signing on for a villain role.

El-Masry will portray Ibrahim, the right-hand man to Ali Suliman’s Islamic terrorist Suleiman. He is described as “the most trusted member of Suleiman’s sect, though softer and more cerebral than his cohorts”.

Jack Ryan stars The Office‘s John Krasinski as the title character just as he’s joined the CIA as an analyst. The series will see him uncover a pattern in terrorist communications that puts him at the centre of a terrorist plot that could destabilize the entire world. Jack Ryan comes from Lost‘s Carlton Cuse and Fringe‘s Graham Roland. Roland wrote the pilot based on a story he and Cuse developed and both will act as executive producers.
